As a former College and Career Access for Special Populations Specialist at the Office of College and Career Success, Luis Narvaez promoted postsecondary access for immigrant and Latino students through creation of the Latino College Access Committee and the development of the DREAM Act Training modules for counselors. Currently, as the Strategic Projects Director for the Office of Language and Cultural Education (OLCE), he assists in the recognition of bilingual and biliterate students, recruits teachers to pursue ESL and Bilingual endorsement, and ensures that English Language Learners receive adequate instructional support and college and career opportunities. Narvaez manages the CPS DREAM Fund Scholarship. He is a former member of the Board of Directors for the Illinois Association of Latino Administrators and Superintendents, The College Board’s Midwestern Regional Council, the Advisory Council for the Institute of Mexicans Abroad, and just finished participating in the Emerging Leaders Program at the Chicago Council for Global Affairs. He's currently pursuing his doctorate in educational leadership at National Louis University.
